Program Title

KOICA-Yonsei University Master’s Degree Program in Social Economy



Degree Objectives

- Creation of Social Value: Mastering the ability to identify social needs and design interventions that generate measurable social impact and public good.


- Sustainable Management Competency: Developing the business acumen and strategic skills required to ensure the long-term financial and operational sustainability of social economy organizations.


- Cultivation of Social Economy Ecosystems: Learning how to foster supportive environments by connecting diverse stakeholders and building institutional frameworks for the social economy.


- Sector-Specific Expertise: Gaining specialized knowledge in diverse fields such as health and social services, agriculture, and labor to address domain-specific challenges.



- Field-Oriented Social Innovation Leadership: Equipping students with practical leadership skills through Living Labs and Action Plan workshops to lead immediate and effective changes upon returning home.

Qualification

-Be current government officials from central or local departments, employees of public/national research institutes, or practitioners and activists within social economy organizations in KOICA partner countries.


-Be involved in policy development and project implementation across all sectors of the social economy, including but not limited to: cooperatives, social enterprises, local development, village unions (community-based organizations), and non-profit organizations (NPOs).


-Hold a Bachelor’s degree officially recognized by the government in partner countries.


-Exhibit proficiency in spoken and written English, as all classes are conducted in English.


-Be under 40 years old and in good physical and mental health.


-Have no prior participation in similar KOICA training programs.


-Fulfill the specific requirements outlined by the Graduate School of Government and Business at Yonsei University Mirae Campus and KOICA.


-Be current government officials from central or local departments, employees of public/national research institutes, or practitioners and activists within social economy organizations in KOICA partner countries.


-Former dropouts from programs similar to the KOICA Scholarship Program are ineligible.

English fluency that requires no translation
